The District Board of Supervisors would like to announce their scholarship winners for 2013. These students have won $1,000.00 each towards their college education and are receiving their awards during this year's awards program at their schools. We congratulate the following students:
Alexis Cayton - Doddridge County High School - Doddridge County
Kortney Frame - Gilmer County High School - Gilmer County
Andrea Heater - Liberty High School - Harrison County
Jared Lamb - Lewis County High School - Lewis County
The District extends their best wishes to these students, parents, teachers and principals. They will be invited to attend the July District Board meeting where we will once again, recognize them for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future.

The West Fork Conservation District Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the USDA Service Center, Mt. Clare, WV. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is open to the public. If you would like to be placed on the agenda to discuss conservation issues in one of the four counties, please contact the office at 304-627-2160. The agenda will be available three days in advance of the meeting.

| WFCD Congratulates 1st. place Envirothon Team - 4/22/13 |

The West Fork Conservation District congratulates the Doddridge County High School Gold Team for their first place finish in this year's WV Envirothon. We are very proud of the team, along with their teacher, Tina Moore. The team members have won $5,000.00 in scholarships sponsored by Weyerhauser. They will now compete at the North American Envirothon in Bozeman, Montana at Montana State University on August 4-9, 2013.

The West Fork Conservation District Field Day Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss planning and logistics for the Field Day to be held in July 2013.
The Budget Committee will also meet on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. to prepare budgets for the CDO Grant Funds and the General Fund accounts for FY 13-14.

The District will be receiving proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide civil engineering services as needed for a period of two (2) years. Please find attached the ad that has been placed in newspapers. The West Fork Conservation District reserves the right to reject or accept any/and or all expressions of interest. | WV Century Farm Program - 2/21/13 |

The WV Century Farm Program has been designed by the WV Association of Conservation Districts to recognize those families who have been farming the same tract of land for at least 100 years or more and has been in continuous operation. A family member must live on the farm or be an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the family enterprise. The farm must consist of at least 10 acres of the original holdings and gross more than $1,000.00 annually from farm products.
The West Fork Conservation District will be taking applications from Doddridge, Harrison, Gilmer and Lewis Counties until April 1, 2013. The application is attached and if you would have any questions, please give us a call at 304-627-2160.

| WV Envirothon Team Training Program - 2/8/13 |

The West Fork Conservation District will be holding a Envirothon Team Training Day for the WV Envirothon on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Doddridge County Park, near West Union, WV. The training will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Presenters from WV Division of Forestry, WV Conservation Agency, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and WV Department of Natural Resources will be available to assist students. Please let us know if you plan to attend the training day, as we will need the correct number in order to provide lunch by March 25. Outside teams are also invited to attend the training day. For more information, please call Robin Ward at 304-627-2160. We look forward to working with your team and hope to see you on March 27, 2013.

| Agricultural Enhancement Program Signup Announced - 9/5/12 |

The West Fork Conservation District is now accepting applications for the West Virginia Agricultural Enhancement Program (AgEP). Applications must be received by Friday, October 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. for the water development and fencing componet. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis for cost-share on lime and fertilizer and approvals will be based on the availability of funds. The West Fork Conservation District has the following equipment for rent:
2-Ton Limespreader – A $50.00 deposit is required along with a signed lease agreement. If the equipment (limespreader) has been cleaned, the chains oiled and all the fittings greased the deposit in turn can be used toward the cost of rental or be returned in full to lessee. Rental fee is $50.00 per full day that the cooperator has possession of the spreader and is limited to five (5) continuous days.

Seeder Rental – Rental fee is $5.00 per full day that the cooperator has possession of the Seeder. There is a deposit fee of $25.00.
SubSoiler Rental – Contract must be signed and the rental is $10.00 per full day.
Sprayer Rental – Contract must be signed and the rental is $5.00 per full day.
In order to rent the equipment you must be a cooperator. A lease must be signed and a deposit left. If the equipment is taken without leaving a deposit then you will be charged a $50.00 non-refundable fee. For questions about reserving the equipment please contact Suzy Cotter at 627-2160.
