The date of the June board meeting has been changed due to WV Day Holiday being observed on the regular board meeting day of the third Thursday. The WCD Board will meet on Thursday, June 13th at 9:30 a.m. in the District Office located at 224C First Street, Point Pleasant, WV. To be on the agenda or to have items placed on the agenda please contact the office one week prior to the meeting. The agenda will be available three business days before the meeting.

| County Conservation Farmers for 2013 Announced - 5/7/13 |

Congratulations goes out to our three county Conservation Farmers for 2013.
Jackson County - Tim Boyce, Ravenswood
Putnam County - Julie Schaer, Hurricane
Mason County - Miles Epling, Point Pleasant
The District award will be selected from these three farms and be named in May.

Congratulations goes out to Ravenswood FFA and their coach FFA Advisor, Tara Tatalovitch, they took 2nd place at the WV Envirothon held last week in Wood County. Ripley Environmental Science Team came in at sixth place under the coaching of Barbara Heckert. Beth Baldwin's Putnam County 4-H team did well their first year in the competition finishing 21 out of 37 teams. We are very proud of these fine teams, they represented us well.

The Western CD would like to remind those with Agriculture Enhancement Contracts that all practices must be completed and original receipts submitted to the WCD no later than by May 1, 2013.
WCD office will be closed due to staff training on April 29th and 30th.

The Western Conservation District will begin taking applications for cost share assistance from District Cooperators through the WV Agriculture Enhancement Program
beginning April 1, 2013. Practices available for cost share assistance this year are agriculture lime, exclusion and division fencing and water systems. Applications for all practices will be accepted April 1st through June 1st.
There are eligibility requirments for all practices. To make application for lime you must have a current soil test report. To find out more contact us at 304-675-3054 or stop by our office at 224C First Street, Point Pleasant, WV.

| WCD Lime Spreader for Rent - 6/29/12 |

The WCD now has a two (2) ton Stoltzfus Lime Spreader for rent to District cooperators in the counties of Mason, Jackson and Putnam.
A $100 deposit is required. Rates are: $100 first day, $50 each additional day (pick up by 11 a.m. today, use next full day return by 9 a.m. the following day) Weekend Rate: $150 (11 a.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Monday)
