A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 25, at the Mercer County 4-H Camp to discuss proposed dam improvements to Brush Creek Site 9 and Brush Creek Site 15.

The meeting is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Mercer County 4-H Camp at 1823 Glenwood Park Road in Princeton.

The West Virginia Conservation Agency has completed Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessments to consider dam improvements and potential environmental impacts at and around the two dams. Environmental impacts at the two dam sites are expected to be minimal.

The purpose of the projects is to bring Site 9 and Site 15 into compliance with current dam design safety and engineering criteria and performance standards, as determined by the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.

The rehabilitation will maintain flood control protection up to a 500-year flood event for both dams and would allow them to be used as a municipal water supply for the Green Valley-Glenwood Public Service District.
