WVCA participates in Flood Resiliency Day at the Capitol
We hosted a table at Silver Jackets Flood Resiliency Day on Friday, Feb. 13, at the state Capitol in Charleston.
Flood resiliency aligns with the Agency's mission to provide for and promote the conservation of West Virginia's soil, land, water and related resources for the health, safety and general welfare of the state's citizens, and to protect people and property from flooding.
WVCA field staff spent much of the first half of 2025 responding to floods and helping with recovery efforts in both southern West Virginia and also the Northern Panhandle.
During the day, we were able to reconnect with old partners and share our recent work with the public. The State Resiliency Office, USDA-NRCS, the West Virginia Association of Conservation Districts and several other agencies and organizations participated in the Silver Jackets Flood Resiliency Day.
