Video: Summer 2026 flood debris removal work continues
WVCA staff have been on the ground focused on debris removal efforts since severe flooding impacted West Virginians July 21, 2026. Field technicians, engineers and managers have been working with contractors to remove the debris blockages and incinerate woody debris. This video features some of that work, and also some of the blockages they face, particularly in the Stonecoal Creek area of Upshur County.
Flood debris removal work is often needed to protect people, property and critical infrastructure following a severe storm or flooding event.
