Farm of the Year Finalists Named

The West Virginia Conservation Farm of the Year competition will be contested between August 28 and August 30, 2018, at farms in Greenbrier, Jackson and Randolph counties.
Congratulations to the D. Frank Masters Farm in the Greenbrier Valley Conservation District, Hunter Family Farm in the Western Conservation District and Ward Grass Cattle in the Tygarts Valley Conservation District, which are the three finalists that have moved on to the statewide competition.

The finalists advanced based on the conservation practices being implemented on their farms and a panel of judges’ scores during the Area I and Area II farm tours in July. Each of the three farms raise beef cattle on the property.
Seven winners from the Eastern Panhandle, Elk, Greenbrier Valley, Potomac Valley, Southern, Tygarts Valley and Western conservation districts competed in July for the finalist spots.
YThe 2018 Conservation Farm of the Year will be named during an awards banquet in October in Charleston.
