Video: Stream debris removal work continues in southern W.Va. - 3/27/25
posted by: Davin White

For several weeks, West Virginia Conservation Agency watershed technicians and field operations managers have continued working with contractors to clear woody debris out of streams that could impact homes and infrastructure in southern West Virginia, following the devastating flooding in February.

This video, which also appears on our YouTube channel, is a small window into some of this important work.

Crews have continued to work across the 13 counties included in a disaster declaration: Boone, Cabell, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mercer, McDowell, Mingo, Raleigh, Summers, Wayne and Wyoming counties.

The additional photos below show what the blockages on Big Ugly Creek in the Harts area looked like before crews had them removed.
